I’m always looking for ways to reduce my carbon footprint.
As a translator, one of the easiest wins is to pick your clients. I therefore won't accept projects from companies in the oil & gas, aviation, and other highly polluting sectors.
I also conduct office audits to calculate my yearly CO2 equivalent. These figures help me to make an informed decision about where to focus my carbon-cutting efforts. My grand total for 2023 came to 795.27 kg CO2 (as I was on maternity leave for most of 2024, I am not doing a 2024 audit).
